Prawn biriyani is really delicious and flavorful biriyani.

Prawn Biriyani || chingri macher biriyani

Prep Time : 15 minutes. Cook Time : 40 minutes



Prawn preparation:

  1. Marinate the prawn with ginger-garlic paste, salt, red chilies, yogurt, onion and coconut milk. Marinate for about 10 mins.
  2. Heat oil in a deep pan, add the bay leaves, onion paste and saute for a minute.
  3. Add the marinated prawn along with the marinade.
  4. Cook on a medium heat till all the water dries up.
  5. Add the milk,  1/2  of the fried onions and cook till all the water dries up.

Rice preparation:

  1. In a deep and wide sauce pan boil 1000 ml water.
  2. Add rice along with 1 tablespoon oil and salt.
  3. Boil on a medium flame.
  4. When rice is 90% cooked, add cooked prawn, remaining fried onion and green chilies.
  5. Cover and keep on a very low heat for 25 minutes.
  6. Place this pan on top of a tawa to prevent the bottom layer of rice from getting burnt.
  7. After 25 minutes turn off the heat.
  8. Let it stand for 10 minutes and open.
  9. Serve delicious prawn biriyani  with mango chatney.
