Ingredients
- Prawn - 500 gm with skin,head & tail
- Onion Paste - 3 tablespoon
- Onion - 1 cup chopped
- Spice Paste:
- Ginger Paste - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic Paste - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin Paste - 1 teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Whole Garam Masala:
- Bay leaves - 1 piece
- Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
- Cardamon - 2 pieces
- Raisin Paste - 1 tablespoon
- Spice Powder:
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- White pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Other Ingredients:
- Green Chilies - 4 pieces
- Coconut milk - 2 cups
- Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 1 cup
Instructions
Preparation:
- Marinate the prawn for 10 minutes, with lemon juice, salt and 1/2 teaspoon chili powder.
Method:
- Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan, when it starts smoking, reduce the flame to medium and fry the prawn for 1 minute. Remove from heat and keep aside.
- Add remaining oil in the same pan and fry the chopped onion until they become light golden brown in color.
- Now add onion paste and saute for 2 minutes. Then add all other ingredients and stirring continuously until oil become separated from spices.
- Add 1 cup water and bring to boil.
- Mix the prawn, cover and cook for 10 minutes on a low flame.
- Finally green chilies and cook another 2 minutes.
- Turn off flame and remove from heat and serve hot with rice or plain khichuri.
