Green Papaya Halwa – kacha peper halwa

Ingredients
- Green Papaya - 2 cups cubed
- Sugar - 2 cups
- Chana - 1 cup
- Ghee - 1/4 cup
- Cardamon powder - a pinch
- Cinnamon powder - a pinch
- Pistachio - 3 tablespoon chopped
- Raisins - 2 tablespoon chopped
- Green food color - 1 drope
Instructions
Preparation:
- First grease a pan with one teaspoon ghee and keep aside.
- Boil the green papaya and drain all water. Then mashed well. Keep aside.
Method:
- Heat remaining ghee until melt in a nonstick pan. Pour the mashed papaya and saute'for 4-5 minutes. Then add sugar and mix well. Stir continuously it with the spoon at small intervals.
- Once the halwa gets thick, add channa into the mixture. Cook it and continuously stirring the mixture with the spoon.
- When the mixture gets thick like a halwa, and starts to leave the corners of the pan, add some raisins, cardamon and cinnamon powder to it. Stir it regularly till the mixture forms a thick consistency.
- Add a drop of green color and chopped pistachio. Continue cooking until the mixer is very thick.
- Stop cooking when halwa pull away from the sides of the pan and keep aside. Sprinkle with the grated nuts and raisins.
- Grease a plate or tray and put the mixture on it and garnish it with some chopped pistachio.
- Let the mixture get cool and within 2 hours the papaya will get cold and be ready to eat.
