Description
Chili Rui Fish or Rui Fish-Capsicum Curry recipe, a restaurant style Bangladeshi Chinese fish starter that’s crisp with sweet, sour and spicy flavors.
Chili Rui/Rui Fish-Capsicum Curry
Ingredients
- For Fish Preparation:
- Rui fish/Ruho fish - 500 gm
- Red Chili Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cornflour - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oil - 2 tablespoon
- For Gravy:
- Onion - 1 cup sliced
- Ginger paste - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic - 1 teaspoon chopped
- Cumin paste - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- For Sauce Mixture:
- Dark Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fish Sauce - 1 tablespoon
- White vinegar - 1 teaspoon
- Cornflour - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Vegetable:
- Capsicum red,green,yellow - 1 cup sliced
- For Garnishing:
- Green onion/spring onion - 2 tablespoon chopped
- Fresh Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon chopped
Instructions
Fish Preparation:
- Cut the fish into small pieces. Wash and drain fish pieces.
- Mix all ingredients for fish preparation except oil. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a wide non stick vessel on high heat and fry the fish pieces until brown. Remove from heat and keep aside.
- Now fry capsicum at the same pan for one minute and keep aside.
Sauce Preparation:
- Mix all sauce, cornflour with water. Mix well and keep aside.
Cooking Method:
- Heat 1/4 cup oil in a medium wide vessel and fry sliced onion until soft.
- Now add ginger and garlic, saute' a little.'
- Then add 4 tablespoon water and red chili, cumin, coriander and keep stirring for 1-2 minute.
- Then add capsicum and cook for 1 minute.
- Now add fried fish pieces gently and mix with spice and vegetable.
- Add 1 cup of water and cook until tender and gravy comes out thick.
- Then add sauce mixture in it and cook 1-2 minutes on medium high heat.
- Once cooked and gravy become thick then turn off heat.
- Remove from heat and garnish with green onion and fresh coriander leaves.
Notes:
- You can add any kind of vegetables like carrot or potato, cabbage etc.
- Any kind of fish also can be used.
