Chili Rui/Rui Fish-Capsicum Curry

Prep Time : 15 minutes. Cook Time : 10 minutes



Fish Preparation:

  • Cut the fish into small pieces. Wash and drain fish pieces.
  • Mix all ingredients for fish preparation except oil. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a wide non stick vessel on high heat and fry the fish pieces until brown. Remove from heat and keep aside.
  • Now fry capsicum at the same pan for one minute and keep aside.


Sauce Preparation:

  • Mix all sauce, cornflour with water. Mix well and keep aside.


Cooking Method:

  • Heat 1/4 cup oil in a medium wide vessel and fry sliced onion until soft.
  • Now add ginger and garlic, saute' a little.'
  • Then add 4 tablespoon water and red chili, cumin, coriander and keep stirring for 1-2 minute.
  • Then add capsicum and cook for 1 minute.
  • Now add fried fish pieces gently and mix with spice and vegetable.
  • Add 1 cup of water and cook until tender and gravy comes out thick.
  • Then add sauce mixture in it and cook 1-2 minutes on medium high heat.
  • Once cooked and gravy become thick then turn off heat.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with green onion and fresh coriander leaves.

  • You can add any kind of vegetables like carrot or potato, cabbage etc.
  • Any kind of fish also can be used.
