Shorshe Diye Ilish Dim Bhuna


Shorshe-Ilish Dim Bhuna or Ilish fish Egg curry is a thick gravy curry with mustard paste, chili onion and turmeric. It is spicy ilish fish egg curry goes with khichuri or steamed rice.

Prep Time : 12 minutes. Cook Time : 10 minutes Yield : 6-8 small pieces curry




  • Heat 2 tablespoon oil and fry ilish dim sprinkle with salt and turmeric powder.
  • Fry until brown. Keep aside.

Cooking Method:

  • Heat oil and fry onion until soft.
  • Add all other ingredients and stir for 2-3 minutes until oil is separated from gravy.
  • Now add 1/2 cup water and fried ilish dim.
  • Add green chili, cover and cook for 5-6 minutes on low heat until gravy is thick.
  • Once cooked then cut the cooked egg into small pieces and serve.


  • Adjust salt and chili according to your spice level.
  • Make paste of black mustard with some salt and a green chili to remove the taste of bitterness.
