Aam Daal/Kacha Aame Daal/Green Mango & Lentil
Ingredients
- Masoor dal/lentil - 1 cup
- Green Mango/Kacha Aam - 1 sliced
- Ground turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chili - 2 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Onion - 2 tablespoon chopped
- For tempering:
- Soybean oil - 3-4 tablespoon
- Mustard - 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion - 2 tablespoon chopped
- Garlic - 1 tablespoon chopped
- Dry Red Chili - 2 pieces
Instructions
Method:
- Clean and rinse lentil well.
- Boil the lentil with turmeric powder, salt, green chili and two tablespoon chopped onion with 3 cups of water until tender.
- Once cooked mashed properly.
- Add 1 cup of water. If needed, add more water.
- Now add sliced mango and cook until mango is tender.
- Once cooked turn off heat.
For Tempering:
- In a separate pan, heat oil and fry the onions and garlic.
- Add the mustard seeds and the dry chili, and fry some more.
- Pour in all the ingredients into the daal.
- Serve with rice.
