Ingredients
- Green Papaya - 500 gm before peeling/2 cups after chopping
- sugar - 1 cup
- food color - as needed
- Vanilla Essence - 1 teaspoon
Instructions
method:
- peel off the skin of papaya and chop it into small equal cubes. it yields around 2 cups of raw papaya. keep it aside.
- boil enough water in a pan, once it starts boiling, add chopped raw papaya and cook for 4 minutes on medium high heat.
- once done remove from heat and drain all water.
- in another pan add 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. cook on medium low heat until dissolve.
- further add boiled papaya and cook on low medium heat until the sugar syrup turns sticky and forms a thin one-stirring consistency, which may take 15-20 minutes.
- add vanilla essence. mix well.
- turn of flame and divide the cooked papaya into 3 equal portion with sugar syrup into a bowl.
- mix a pinch of different food color and mix well. then keep the bowl into refrigerator for 24 hours.
- after 24 hours take out the papaya from syrup and drain all sugar syrup.
- further, transfer to a plate and keep the plate under fan until dries out completely.
- then, store it in a airtight container and use whenever you needed.
notes:
- you can use any kind of color.
- you can use tutti frutti in custard, ice-cream, cakes, cookies, biscuits, muffin, bread or bun.
