Sweet & Sour Vegetable Beef
Ingredients
- For Marination:
- Beef - 1 cup cut into long strips
- Dark Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- White pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- For Sauce:
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato sauce - 2 tablespoon
- White vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1/2 teaspoon
- Deep Frying Ingredients:
- Cornflour - 2 tablespoon+4 tablespoon
- Oil - for deep fry
- Other Ingredients:
- Mixed Vegetables-carrot,capsicum - 1 cup cut into thin strips
- Onion - 1/4 cup finely chopped
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon finely chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Garlic - 1 tablespoon finely chopped
- Oil - 2 tablespoon
- Cornflour - 1 teaspoon
- Chicken stock cube - 1 piece
- Water - 1 cup
Instructions
Preparation:
- Marinate beef strips with salt, soy sauce, lemon juice and white pepper powder for 2 hours in refrigerator.
- Mix the sauce ingredients-soy sauce, oyster sauce, tomato sauce, pepper powder, red chili powder, sugar, sesame oil and vinegar. Keep aside.
Deep Frying Method:
- Mix cornflour with meat for coating.
- Deep fry for 10 minutes or until brown.
Cooking Method:
- Heat oil in a wok and fry chopped ginger-garlic for half a minute.
- Then add chopped onion and fry till soft.
- Then pour the prepared sauce and mix well. Saute' for 2 minutes.
- Then add vegetable and saute' for 2 minutes.
- Mix cornflour, chicken stock cube and 1 cup of water, then add to the gravy.
- Bring to boil and add fried beef and mix quickly.
- Remove from heat and serve hot with rice or pasta.
