Chocolate Custard Cake
Ingredients
- For the custard
- Egg - 4
- Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 500 ml
- Powdered milk - 1/4 cup
- Vanilla Essence - 1 teaspoon
- For the cake
- All purpose flour - 1 cup
- Egg - 3
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Powdered sugar - 1 cup
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Butter/oil - 1/2 cup
- Vanilla Essence - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
Instructions
For making custard mix:
- Grease the baking pan with butter and keep it aside.
- Whisk egg, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl.
- Mix together milk and powder milk until dissolve.
- Then pour the milk into egg mixture and mix it well.
- Now strain with a strainer.Keep aside.
- Pour the custard mixture into the baking tray.Keep it aside.
For making cake batter:
- Mix ingredients-flour, baking powder and cocoa powder in a bowl. Strain or mix with a spatula.
- In a another bowl whisk 3 egg yolks, 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla, salt and 1/4 cup milk. Whisk until change it color.
- Now pour the flour mixture into the egg yolk mixture and mix it gently until there is no lumps.
- Whisk egg white with a electric bitter.
- Now add remaining 1/2 cup sugar slowly and keep whisking until thick foam.
- Add foam into cake mixture and mix slowly. Don't over mix the cake mixture.
For making custard cake:
- Now pour the cake mixture over the custard mixture. Just pour, don't mix it. If you mix it then the cake mixture will sink into custard mixture.
- Place the cake pan in a larger pan half-filled with hot water. Place in the oven center and bake for 15-30 minutes at 175 C or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the whole pan and place in a cooling rack, let it cool down to room temperature. Then place in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- After cooled remove from cake pan by running a knife on the edges .
- Place in a serving dish and serve chilled.
- Place in a serving dish, sprinkle some chocolate sprinkles and serve chilled.
