Orange Pound Cake/Basic Orange Cake
Orange Pound Cake is a special, super soft and fluffy cake. This cake flavored with squeeze of orange juice and grated orange zest. This cake is perfect for snacks time or tea time.

Ingredients
- All purpose flour - 1 cup
- Egg - 3 room temparature
- Butter/oil - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Orange juice - 1/4 cup
- Orange zest(outer skin) - 1 teaspoon
- Orange essence (optional) - 1 teaspoon
Instructions
Preparation:
- Preheat your oven to 160 degree c.
- Grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan with oil and place a parchment paper. Keep aside.
- Mix dry ingredients-flour, salt, baking powder in a bowl. Keep aside.
Method:
- Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add caster sugar and beat well until sugar has been dissolve. Beat egg one by one.
- Mix orange juice, orange zest and orange flavor.
- Finally add flour mixture gently and beat until just mix. Don't over mix.
- Pour the batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of cake comes out clean.
- Remove from pan and keep with pan for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes remove from pan and let it cool on room temperature.
